About the Role

We are seeking a high-performing finance professional to lead effective people leadership for Japan Finance and Group Finance Operation Centre, and to evolve our Finance function towards a modern, AI-enabled, insight-led operating model. This role will deliver trusted financial information, strengthen controls, and provide forward-looking insights to support effective decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality financial analysis and insights that link performance to business drivers and support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the wider organisation to provide constructive challenge, clear recommendations, and actionable options.
  • Support planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis, including identification of key assumptions, sensitivities, and risks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes, including standardisation, simplification, and automation of repeatable activities.
  • Promote strong governance and control discipline, ensuring outputs are accurate, auditable, and compliant with relevant regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Support data quality and integrity by identifying issues, investigating root causes, and working with relevant teams to implement sustainable fixes.
  • Produce clear, concise management information and commentary, focusing on “so what” and “what next”.
  • Track actions and outcomes to ensure delivery against agreed objectives and timelines.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect financial outcomes to business performance drivers.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience in process optimisation and/or automation (e.g., workflow tools, reporting automation, or similar).
  • Strong analytical capability, including structured problem solving and the ability to work with uncertainty through scenario-based thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and influence stakeholders at different levels.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions (e.g., Risk, Treasury, Technology, Operations, and business teams).
  • Learning agility and adaptability in a changing environment, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and delivery focus.
