About the Role
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced hardware engineer to join their growing teams in a lead role. This player-coach position involves managing a team of engineers while also contributing technically to the development of next-generation electronic systems, primarily Electronic Warfare systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of hardware engineers, including recruitment, training, and development.
- Assign team members to programs, IRADs, and proposals.
- Develop individual and group goals and objectives.
- Communicate company and business area information to the team.
- Mentor careers through development plans.
- Ensure team members adhere to company cultural principles, policies, and vision.
- Ensure the Hardware Development Process is implemented successfully.
- Collaborate with other Discipline Section Leads to determine program staffing needs.
- Contribute technically to programs across the entire product lifecycle, including product capture, proposals, design, design reviews, verification, integration, trade studies, and build support.
- Develop Electronic Warfare solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering.
- Minimum of 8+ years of work experience.
- Experience with hardware engineering development of DoD systems.
- Technical team leadership experience.
- Strong skill in people management and team collaboration within systems engineering and across disciplines.
- Able to demonstrate timely decision making.
- Able to lead a team to adapt to changes effectively.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret level clearance.
