About the Role

LCRA is hiring a substation electrician to join our internal construction team. You will build critical substation electrical and control infrastructure across Central Texas, gaining hands-on experience and valuable skills. We seek individuals eager to grow their careers and contribute to public utility work.

Responsibilities

  • Build electrical substations using construction skills and specialized tools.
  • Read blueprints, consult manuals, and keep drawings and schematics up-to-date.
  • Assist other teams to complete project scopes.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, or other electrical equipment.
  • Experience reading blueprints.
  • A degree in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance, or a relevant field may substitute for certain years of experience per LCRA guidelines.
  • Class A Texas commercial driver's license.
