About the Role
Colliers Project Leaders helps clients advance the built environment by assisting them to build amazing workplaces, businesses, and communities. We are looking for an MEP Manager with Data Center experience to join our Owner's Rep team.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on Data Center Projects.
- Ensure MEP installations meet design, budget, quality, schedule, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural and structural disciplines to resolve conflicts.
- Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs for accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor on-site installation and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Manage contractors and vendors to ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Conduct site inspections and attend coordination meetings.
- Verify material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings.
- Liaise with consultants, architects, and the client to ensure technical requirements are met.
- Assist in developing and maintaining MEP project schedules.
- Ensure MEP works are executed safely and comply with local codes.
- Lead testing and commissioning activities for MEP systems.
- Manage project setup, including budget and schedule creation and oversight.
- Develop and coordinate RFPs, pre-bid planning, and oversight.
- Assist the team during design and construction phases.
- Coordinate with contractors, including traditional and design-build.
- Oversee physical construction activities on site.
- Manage the hand-off of physical data center and project documents to the customer and operations.
- Manage contractor safety performance.
- Coordinate and plan logistics for all OFCI equipment.
- Manage General Contractors and vendor project management resources for assigned projects.
- Report to the assigned project team and manager.
- Perform QA/QC work for assigned projects.
- Review monthly billing, confirm substantiation, and audit against budget.
- Ensure 'lessons learned' are documented and used for continuous improvement.
- Ensure project teams align with project turnover documentation requirements for Operations.
- Coordinate design criteria and construction with ongoing maintenance and operation of existing facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Sophisticated and technical construction experience.
- Data Center and General Contractor experience preferred.
- Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project & other PM technical tools.
- Travel may be required.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
