About the Role

Flexport is seeking a Senior Manager, PR & Communications to shape the company's narrative across various channels, including press, blog, social media, customer communications, and internal messaging. This high-visibility role involves working directly with the CEO & Founder and leadership team to influence Flexport's public image and ensure the company is part of critical industry conversations.

Responsibilities

  • Support Flexport's PR strategy end-to-end, including proactive media pitching, inbound media management, press releases, and rapid response.
  • Help define and evolve Flexport's narrative, connecting the platform and products to macro trends in global trade.
  • Influence content strategy and development across blog, social media, website, webinars, and other owned channels.
  • Build and deepen relationships with key reporters and outlets covering logistics, trade, technology, and business.
  • Develop and execute a thought leadership program for senior leaders.
  • Staff and prep spokespeople for interviews, panels, and media appearances.
  • Monitor the news cycle for opportunities to insert Flexport into breaking stories and industry narratives.
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, and Content Marketing to ensure content supports campaigns and objectives.
  • Own the voice and cadence of customer communications regarding service updates, policy changes, and product announcements.
  • Develop frameworks and templates for timely, accurate, and on-brand customer-facing communications.
  • Partner with Customer Success, Operations, and Product teams to coordinate messaging.
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency across the communications function, including content drafting, media monitoring, and workflow automation.
  • Stay current on AI's impact on PR, content, and communications, and implement new tools and approaches.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience spanning PR and communications, with a mix of agency and in-house experience preferred.
  • Proven media relationships and a track record of landing meaningful coverage in top-tier business, trade, and technology outlets.
  • Experience as a communications partner to senior executives, including prepping leaders for interviews and developing thought leadership platforms.
  • Strong editorial instincts and the ability to build a content program from strategy through execution.
  • Experience owning customer communications in a B2B environment, particularly during complex or sensitive moments.
  • Ability to move fast, manage multiple workstreams, and exercise excellent judgment.
  • Familiarity with the logistics, supply chain, or trade industry is a strong plus.
  • Actively use AI tools to drive efficiencies across content production, media monitoring, research, and workflow automation.
