About the Role
The Australian Financial Review is seeking a dynamic Video and Social Media Producer to create high-quality video for AFR.com and drive engagement by distributing premium content across key digital and social platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape contemporary storytelling and amplify the reach of the nation's premier business publication.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with journalists and editors to execute video and social media strategy.
- Pitch, film and edit compelling videos to engage and grow the AFR audience.
- Write and publish smart, targeted social media posts and video content.
- Generate innovative ideas for content distribution on AFR.com and external platforms.
- Track performance using analytics to meet follower goals and guide strategic decisions.
- Stay updated on video and social media trends for emerging news delivery opportunities.
Requirements
- Excellent video editing skills, with proficiency in tools like Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Demonstrated experience scripting, filming and editing news in video format.
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, digital trends, and audience engagement.
- Engaging writing skills that align with the AFR’s values and tone.
- Strong general knowledge and an interest in news and current affairs.
- Analytical insight into SEO, data tools, graphic design and digital story packaging will be advantageous.
- Must have the right to lawfully work and live in Australia.
