About the Role
As a Level 1 Support Analyst – Accounting, you'll be the first point of contact for Practice Evolve clients needing assistance with the accounting aspects of their software, from trust accounting to end-of-month processing. This role involves helping legal professionals maximize their use of essential tools by resolving issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for clients via calls, emails, and support tickets, managing each request from initiation to resolution.
- Diagnose and resolve accounting-related software issues, including trust accounting, office accounting, billing, receipting, payments, bank reconciliations, journals, and the general ledger.
- Assist clients with end-of-month processing, financial reporting, trust transfers, GST, creditors, and debtors.
- Provide guidance to clients on software functionality and best-practice workflows.
- Prioritize and manage support requests according to established processes and service level agreements.
- Escalate complex issues with clear, detailed documentation, ensuring client issues are fully resolved.
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions in the ticketing system to contribute to a shared knowledge base.
- Collaborate with Support, Development, and Product teams to solve problems, share knowledge, and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Possess a working knowledge of accounting principles and accounting software, including general ledger transactions, billing, receipting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Have a solid understanding of trust accounting; legal trust accounting experience is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to assist others.
- Communicate clearly and confidently, explaining technical concepts simply both verbally and in writing.
- Exhibit sound analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and maintain composure in a fast-paced support environment.
- Possess a self-starter mindset, capable of working independently while contributing to a team.
- Familiarity with legal practice management software or legal accounting processes is advantageous but not essential.
