About the Role

This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving White Stuff's ambition to become the most influential British lifestyle brand by 2030. The Brand Director will shape the brand's visual direction and lead all marketing and advertising efforts to significantly broaden its appeal and build meaningful brand fame.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the visual direction of the White Stuff brand in partnership with the Chief Brand Officer and Product Director.
  • Sharpen the visual identity, elevate creative standards, and ensure the brand feels fresh and authentic.
  • Set and steward the creative and aesthetic direction across all brand touchpoints, including campaigns, seasonal storytelling, and content.
  • Champion the brand internally, ensuring all functions uphold White Stuff’s identity, tone of voice, and visual standards.
  • Establish guidelines for brand expression to ensure quality and coherence.
  • Lead the development and delivery of all marketing and advertising planning and activity.
  • Drive the creative ambition of brand campaigns to broaden appeal and build cultural presence.
  • Own the annual brand and marketing calendar, including launches, activations, and media campaigns.
  • Sharpen the community focus of the brand and marketing team to increase customer involvement.
  • Build and manage relationships with creative, media, and production agencies.
  • Develop a sophisticated approach to media and channel strategy to build lasting brand equity.
  • Ensure brand direction and product strategy are mutually reinforcing.
  • Translate product evolution and market opportunities into clear brand positioning and campaign strategies.
  • Contribute to White Stuff’s international brand strategy, ensuring effective adaptation across markets.
  • Drive accountability across all brand investment, measuring brand health and campaign effectiveness.
  • Lead strategic thinking on audience expansion, identifying new customer segments and partnerships.
  • Develop insight-led propositions that resonate with a broader range of customers.
  • Build a social and digital brand presence that earns attention and grows community.
  • Explore and develop brand collaborations, cultural partnerships, and earned media opportunities.
  • Ensure the brand promise is consistently delivered across all customer touchpoints.
  • Develop a customer promise that activates desired behaviors across the business.
  • Partner with customer service and retail teams to drive NPS and embed a customer-centric culture.
  • Oversee the White Stuff Studio team, delivering in-house production for Ecommerce, social content, and campaign shoots.
  • Ensure the studio team delivers work that progresses the brand’s look and feel on time and within budget.
  • Develop studio capability to better support brand ambition and channel needs.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing brand marketing, content, and creative team.
  • Act as a senior leader, contributing to broader strategy and representing the brand perspective.
  • Create an environment where talented, creative people can do their best work.

Requirements

  • Proven track record as a senior brand leader with experience in setting distinctive visual direction and driving creative output.
  • Strong experience developing and overseeing advertising and integrated marketing campaigns with commercial results and brand fame.
  • Deep creative sensibility and aesthetic confidence.
  • Experience in broadening brand appeal and growing audiences, ideally within lifestyle, fashion, or consumer brands.
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between brand and product strategy.
  • Experience working at a senior level with creative and media agencies.
  • International brand experience with the ability to adapt brand thinking across markets.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with credibility to drive leadership alignment.
  • Experience leading and developing brand and creative teams in hands-on, entrepreneurial environments.
  • Thorough command of the full marketing mix, with a strong instinct for investment impact.
  • Genuine affinity with the White Stuff brand, its character, aesthetics, customers, and ambition.
