About the Role
Cadence hires and develops leaders and innovators to impact the world of technology. This role provides pre-sales and/or post-sales technical customer support for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and semiconductor intellectual property (IP), including implementation, training, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical customer support including implementation, training, and maintenance support for EDA and semiconductor IP.
- Customize EDA tools used to design PCBs to meet customer requirements.
- Work closely with customers in supporting technical campaigns by creating and conducting technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer.
- Provide world-class reactive support, proactive training, and problem consultation.
- Collaborate with R&D to introduce new PCB design technologies.
- Understand the competitive landscape and continuously work on differentiating Cadence’s solutions.
- Champion customer needs and help R&D and product engineers develop competitive and creative technical solutions.
- Understand customer success criteria and commit to customer success.
- Establish technical credibility and rapport with customers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related engineering occupation.
- Electrical circuit design, schematics, and layout design.
- High-speed design, signal integrity and electrical constraints definition.
- Manufacturing requirements including Design For Manufacturability (DFM), panelization, solder mask tolerances, and drill constraints.
- Design rule management and constraint-driven workflows.
- Design review and collaboration tools including system capture and Allegro PCB editor.
- Component library and part management.
- Design validation and error checking using system capture and Allegro PCB editor.
- Performance optimization and design trade-offs using system capture and Allegro PCB editor.
- Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
