About the Role
The Technical Services Representative plays a key role in operations by setting up, operating, and dismantling audio visual equipment for events.
Responsibilities
- Setting up, operating, and dismantling audio visual equipment at events.
- Servicing trade shows, hotel conventions, and staging events.
- Verifying completed purchase orders and ensuring all required equipment was prepared.
- Loading and unloading trucks, requiring lifting of heavy equipment.
- Climbing stairs and ladders.
- Performing various control tests and troubleshooting equipment before assigned events.
- Sitting for lengthy periods (potentially four hour stretches lasting all day) to operate equipment in meeting rooms.
- Walking during trade shows.
- Driving defensively in cube vans and panel vans.
- Driving long distances or traveling as a passenger.
- Handling equipment with care.
- Completing reports on events per company procedure.
- Representing the Company in a professional manner.
- Acting as Lead TSR, which includes coordinating a team and serving as the on-site resource for clients and the operations department.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position or a post-secondary diploma in a relevant domain.
- 2-3+ years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
- 2-3+ years of audio visual experience is required.
- Knowledge of setting up portable sound systems (speakers, mixers, equalizers).
- Knowledge of setting up wireless microphones.
- Knowledge of setting up audio cassette and CD players.
- Knowledge of setting up LCD data projectors and monitors.
- Knowledge of setting up computer interfaces and switchers.
- Knowledge of setting up Betacam and VHS players.
- Knowledge of setting up large projection screens and scaffold towers.
- Knowledge of setting up industrial video cameras.
- Knowledge of setting up video lighting equipment.
- Knowledge of setting up simultaneous translation equipment.
- Knowledge of setting up Fastfold screens.
- Knowledge of setting up cameras.
- Knowledge of setting up risers/staging.
