Responsibilities

Assist with personal care issues including changing bedding and clothing.
Assist with bathing hospice patients and hygienic routines such as brushing teeth, washing hair, and keeping wound dressings clean and dry.
Instruct family members on basic healthcare routines for terminally ill relatives.
Consult with supervising registered nurses regarding patient progression and family needs.

Requirements

Must meet one of the following: a minimum of one year full-time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility), OR one year of experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home health or hospice setting.
Must be registered and listed in good standing on the nurse aide registry in the state of employment.
Must have basic demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device.
May demonstrate an active willingness to learn the required skills in lieu of existing technology skills.
Must possess a valid state driver license.
Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law.
Must maintain dependable transportation in good working condition.
Must be able to safely drive an automobile in all types of weather conditions.
Must complete training and competency evaluation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Must possess CPR certification.
