About the Role

The Associate Director is a key member of the Warehouse Finance team within Commercial Real Estate Finance (CREF). This role is responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting, executing, and managing commercial real estate warehouse lending facilities and other asset-backed financing transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Support the origination, structuring and execution of commercial real estate warehouse financing facilities.
  • Ensure all transactions adhere to the bank's credit policies, risk profile, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead transaction underwriting, collateral analysis, cash flow modeling, stress testing, and preparation of credit approval materials for complex financing transactions.
  • Manage all aspects of transaction execution from initial screening through closing and funding.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify and mitigate credit, collateral, operational, and market risks.
  • Partner with REGAL Corporate Banking and other business units on client coverage, business development initiatives, and cross-sell opportunities across the commercial real estate sector.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to Associates and Analysts while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
