About the Role

This role leads the organization responsible for ongoing underwriting and portfolio management of existing customers. You will oversee a multi-layered team to manage portfolio performance, credit decisions, and customer risk while driving the transformation of credit operations through AI-native automation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for ongoing underwriting, portfolio management, and credit risk across the existing customer portfolio
  • Develop and execute portfolio strategies that balance growth, customer experience, and performance
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Operations, Analytics, and Credit Policy
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing organization of managers and credit professionals
  • Build trusted relationships with customer finance leaders and CFOs to evaluate complex credit situations
  • Drive operational excellence by improving underwriting workflows and monitoring processes
  • Champion the adoption of AI and automation to enhance decision quality and efficiency
  • Shape the evolution of commercial credit capabilities as the company expands into new segments
  • Lead high-stakes conversations with client CFO teams, partners, regulators, and auditors

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial credit risk, underwriting, portfolio management, or commercial banking
  • Deep expertise in evaluating business financial statements, cash flow, balance sheets, and commercial credit exposure
  • Experience managing existing commercial customer portfolios, including monitoring and credit line management
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit products, corporate liability underwriting, and business credit decision-making
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced financial services or fintech environment
  • Excellent communication and executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success building strong cross-functional partnerships
  • Passion for improving operational efficiency through technology and AI-enabled workflows
  • Experience supporting commercial cards, B2B payments, banking, or lending products
  • Experience serving commercial, middle-market, or enterprise customers at a leading financial institution or high-growth fintech
