About the Role

The National Data Analyst will support the timely and compliant collection, organization, automation, visualization, interpretation, and presentation of critical academic and operational data across the Great Hearts network. This grant-funded position is anticipated to start October 1, 2026, and continue for four years. The role involves administering the annual survey cycle, supporting data collection for stakeholders, strengthening data systems, and partnering with academic and operational leaders. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual eager to enhance professional capacities and technical skills to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and data-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Design, enhance, and maintain critical academic and operational data sets and systems.
  • Support the development, deployment, and maintenance of Power BI interfaces, dashboards, and other critical data products.
  • Use descriptive and inferential statistical tools to analyze data sets, identify trends and patterns, and generate insights.
  • Contextualize data through comparison with local and national statistics, benchmarks, and trends.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support timely and compliant annual data reporting to grant-makers, state and federal agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide accurate and insightful academic and operational data analysis to support planning, improvement, accountability, and decision-making.
  • Assist with the administration and refinement of the annual Great Hearts survey cycle.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement, recommend system modifications, and strengthen data governance policies.
  • Support the development of sound data systems and practices in new regions and the integration and enhancement of data systems across existing regions.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with leaders to ensure data products and reporting practices meet organizational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Advanced undergraduate/graduate-level statistical, data science, and research design skills.
  • Familiarity with K-12 settings and policies and key K-12 data sources.
  • Experience with visualization and analysis tools and packages such as Power BI, Tableau, Qualtrics.
  • Experience communicating data science concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using statistical computer languages such as R, Python, SQL, or SPSS.
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures.
  • Understanding of key principles of research design and familiarity with quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts.
  • Knowledge of sound survey design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

  • Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Level One fingerprint clearance card.
  • Must be willing to travel to Phoenix periodically, if located elsewhere.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance.
