About the Role
This role involves day-to-day maintenance of equipment and emergency repairs for a medical manufacturer. You will utilize mechanical skills for electrical repairs, production line restarts, and parts replacement.
Responsibilities
- Work with supervision and engineering to facilitate document changes where ISO procedures are inaccurate.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all manufacturing equipment and mechanical systems.
- Observe machinery in operation to identify causes of malfunction.
- Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective components.
- Adjust mechanical devices and control instruments.
- Install structural and functional parts on machinery.
- Operate and test equipment to verify performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
- Perform root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist other maintenance mechanics, engineers and operators on projects and major repairs as needed.
Requirements
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to manufacture, modify, and repair precision components and tooling to tight tolerances.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Familiar with drilling, tapping, boring, grinding, and other machining operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
- Experience operating manual and/or CNC lathes, mills, drill presses, and other precision machining equipment.
- Ability to fabricate, repair, and modify machine parts, tooling, fixtures, and components as needed to support production and maintenance activities.
