About the Role

This role involves day-to-day maintenance of equipment and emergency repairs for a medical manufacturer. You will utilize mechanical skills for electrical repairs, production line restarts, and parts replacement.

Responsibilities

  • Work with supervision and engineering to facilitate document changes where ISO procedures are inaccurate.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all manufacturing equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Observe machinery in operation to identify causes of malfunction.
  • Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective components.
  • Adjust mechanical devices and control instruments.
  • Install structural and functional parts on machinery.
  • Operate and test equipment to verify performance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist other maintenance mechanics, engineers and operators on projects and major repairs as needed.

Requirements

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to manufacture, modify, and repair precision components and tooling to tight tolerances.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Familiar with drilling, tapping, boring, grinding, and other machining operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
  • Experience operating manual and/or CNC lathes, mills, drill presses, and other precision machining equipment.
  • Ability to fabricate, repair, and modify machine parts, tooling, fixtures, and components as needed to support production and maintenance activities.
