Responsibilities
- Operate switchboard, paging, and beeper systems to receive and relay incoming calls.
- Refer calls regarding residents to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Perform reception duties including screening visitors, answering inquiries, and enforcing visitation policies.
- Manage long distance call logs and billing.
- Perform telephone billing functions.
- Maintain and post lists of emergency numbers, personnel extensions, and residents.
- Update the lobby bulletin board for resident admissions and discharges.
- Provide directions to visitors and guests.
- Assist departments with clerical duties such as typing and copying.
- Handle emergencies in accordance with facility policy.
- Report supply, equipment, and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines regarding resident information.
- Ensure work area is kept neat and orderly.
- Fulfill specific duties during fire and disaster situations as outlined in the Fire and Disaster Plan.
Requirements
- High school graduate with a course in typing.
- Ability to operate a switchboard.
- Must possess a positive attitude.
- Must be pleasant and have a pleasant speaking voice.
- Must be well-groomed.
- Must be courteous, patient, and tactful when dealing with the public and residents.
- Must be able to cooperate with other personnel.
