About the Role

The IT Project Manager independently manages a full range of projects, including larger and more complex corporate or departmental projects and implementations. They organize and execute projects, coordinating team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt project management techniques to leverage best concepts of iterative agile methodologies and pre-planned processes.
  • Gain proficiency in various IT-provided technical services and provide value in coordination and communications.
  • Translate between technical and non-technical staff, including senior leadership.
  • Participate in developing and improving departmental project management methodologies.
  • Lead and motivate teams, ensuring high-quality project delivery.
  • Effectively manage project scope, budget, and timeline, evaluating the impact of changes.
  • Identify and manage potential risks or issues, developing contingency and mitigation plans.
  • Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills, along with project management and technical knowledge, to resolve obstacles.
  • Communicate relevant project information effectively to stakeholders, tactfully conveying difficult information.
  • Influence decision-making, obtain buy-in, and negotiate resources, scope, and timelines.
  • Manage contract and consulting resources, ensuring compliance with project budget and Statement of Work.
  • Analyze and assess project requirements and processes.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and lead efforts in standardizing processes and procedures.
  • Deliver effective problem-solving with an analytical mindset and end-to-end project ownership.
  • Take control of all assigned IT projects end-to-end to challenge members, ensure accountability, and inform stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in managing IT Projects required.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing IT Projects preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing medium to large complexity IT projects.
  • Ability to influence and motivate others (who do not report to you) to perform quality work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management, project team members, internal clients, and consultants.
  • Strong ability to persuade at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and solve complex problems.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA.
  • Knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies and experience managing projects in both.
