About the Role
Drive the development of site customer-focused strategies, monitor team performance and metrics, and incorporate Strategic Supply Chain KPIs into all elements of the plan. Serve as a recognized subject matter expert on Supply Chain processes, tools, and applications. May manage a team to support strategy execution and contribute to multi-functional, regional, or global assignments.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for material availability management to meet build plans throughout the product life cycle.
- Provide leadership in designing the supplier portion of the materials supply chain for optimum flexibility with minimum investment.
- Support efforts to identify and develop suppliers to meet current and future business needs.
- Support efforts to reduce material cost and assess/respond to supply risks.
- Support contracts and agreements for supply chain related sections.
- Support the development of delivery requirements, material plans, and short-range capacity plans.
- Serve as the primary customer interface for SCM, including relationship management and issue resolution.
- Track and drive inventory results by collaborating with SCM Managers, Directors & GMs and customer VP/GMs.
- Participate in business process improvements to achieve inventory targets and maximize return on investment.
- Ensure compliance with customs and regulatory laws.
- Support freight & logistics optimization efforts for favorable rates and cycle times.
- Directly manage a group of SCM employees, including training, performance management, development, motivation, and recognition.
- Establish department goals and manage resources to achieve them.
- Drive working capital assumptions in the quote process and lead SCM optimization efforts.
- Support new business quotes and ramp for new products as the key corporate stakeholder for the supply chain.
- Act as the primary customer interface for SCM requirements and solutions, deploying systems and processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with customers on SCM strategies and requirements.
- Drive customer engagement on demand planning, demand management, and collaboration.
- Own the SCM portion for customer QBRs, escalations, and KPI improvement initiatives.
- Lead market teams to optimize working capital performance.
- Ensure contractual claims for SCM related costs are recovered.
- Lead and assist in preparing responses to all SCM customer inquiries.
- Coordinate supplier localization projects for customers.
- Provide direction and support to site teams on SIOP, GAP inventory reviews, and strategic inventory proposals.
- Drive supply chain improvement initiatives with sites.
- Provide coaching and support for cross-functional teams on material pricing & costing, supplier performance, site localization strategies, demand/supply support, supply chain flexibility, and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership oversight for all SCM related matters for customer(s).
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of global supply chain management, distribution methods, global transportation services, and inventory management.
- Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials, and processes.
- Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
- Strong knowledge in all areas of import/export, regulatory, and logistics management.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Strong knowledge of marketplace conditions for a broad range of strategic commodities, including pricing, technology, supply/demand, and emerging trends.
- Strong knowledge of Celestica’s global supply chain, including strategic policies and objectives.
- Excellent understanding of the global business environment and customer business, organization, products, and processes.
- Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
- Ability to interface with many international sites to establish strong working relationships and cooperation.
- Ability to effectively lead, manage, train, and motivate a diverse group of employees.
- Duties performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties require continuous light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space.
- Occasional overnight travel up to 25% is required.
