About the Role

As a leader, you will assume overall responsibility for the domestic services, reception, building services, and kitchen, shaping them according to modern quality and service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership, organization, and further development of employees
  • Ensuring high quality, hygiene, and service standards, as well as uniform workflows (duty and tour planning)
  • Development and implementation of workflows and quality management
  • Budget planning and economic control of the area of responsibility
  • Collaboration with external service providers and suppliers
  • Risk controlling (occupational safety, fire safety, compliance, data protection, hazardous materials management, hygiene)
  • Professional guidance and instruction of employees (interface with personnel management)
  • Development and definition of decision-making aids, action guidelines, and work instructions, as well as implementation of new legal regulations (interface with QM)
  • Discussion of individual cases and, if necessary, handling of prominent and/or difficult individual cases
  • Organization of rooms and common areas for families and guests
  • Creation of a appreciative and hospitable atmosphere in the house and garden
  • Close collaboration with employees from the care, psychosocial, administration, outpatient services, and volunteer departments
  • Participation in events, celebrations, and special offers for families
  • Preparation, participation in, and provision of information and decision-making documents for senior management and committees (including minutes in committees and meetings)

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training or degree in Hotel Management, Home Economics, Hospitality Management, or Facility Management
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in a commercial (junior) management position, ideally in the hotel, healthcare, or social services sector
  • Competence in handling numbers and business contexts
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, analytical skills, and methodological competence
  • Confident use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong service, customer focus, and results orientation
  • Organizational skills and economic thinking
  • Confident handling of quality and hygiene standards
  • Empathy and sensitivity in dealing with severely ill young people and their relatives
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Identification with the values and mission of a children's hospice
