About the Role

The Custodian Quality Manager is responsible for assisting in the direction and oversight of custodial operations, including supervising Team Leads and Custodial staff. This role ensures that all services meet or exceed quality standards and client expectations. The Quality Manager acts as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, regularly visiting sites to assess service delivery, address concerns, and uphold the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures aligned with contract requirements and corporate policies.
  • Establish and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
  • Monitor, measure, and analyze operational performance to ensure service excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective and preventative actions to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in supervising Team Leads and Custodial staff to ensure efficient operations and high performance.
  • Coordinate daily tasks, assignments, and project execution across custodial teams.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and productivity.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and custodial teams to maintain strong relationships.
  • Travel to client sites to evaluate service delivery, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Respond to client feedback and implement solutions to improve service quality.
  • Manage incoming communications, including answering phone calls and responding to inquiries.
  • Maintain databases and records related to staff, quality inspections, and performance metrics.
  • Create and manage spreadsheets, reports, and documentation related to operations and quality control.
  • Provide hands-on support as needed to meet operational demands, including staff coverage and training.
  • Assist in onboarding, coaching, and developing team members to ensure consistent performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational success and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Experience in custodial services, facilities management, or quality control required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client locations as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing site inspections or supporting custodial activities.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching as part of operational support and facility walkthroughs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds as needed for supplies, equipment, or coverage duties.
  • Ability to travel between locations, including driving, walking large facilities, and navigating stairs or uneven surfaces.
  • Visual ability to assess cleanliness, safety conditions, and quality standards.
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as computers, phones, and inspection tools.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying indoor/outdoor temperatures.
