  • Develop strategies for urban design frameworks, systems diagrams, and conceptual plans under the guidance of a Senior Urban Designer.
  • Support team design content creation and project organization, demonstrating a reliable understanding of the relationship between design and feasibility.
  • Continuously improve the urban design process and team workflows using excellent tools and systems management for high-quality deliverables.
  • Initiate urban design concepts based on knowledge of site planning strategies, including land use mix, block sizes, open space, building and street types, and placemaking.
  • Assist with client presentations and external events, potentially leading sub-topic or table conversations, and actively participate in collaborative team design meetings.
  • Collaboratively incorporate integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Lead design teams in completing tasks and responsibilities within scope, schedule, and budget, prioritizing obligations based on task prioritization and understanding of contractual obligations and client expectations.
  • Begin developing successful client experiences through excellence in design and information coordination.
  • Read and understand Agreements to Work within budget, schedule, work plan, and client constraints.

  • Proactively mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff.
  • Actively promote a collaborative culture and innovative design alternatives, contributing to successful project delivery.
  • Demonstrate effective conflict resolution techniques with project team members.
  • Assist with HOK document QA/QC and Best Practice management standards, and archive documents appropriately.
