About the Role
Sygma provides comprehensive business fire, security and electrical systems solutions. We are seeking two motivated apprentices to join our engineering team and train towards becoming qualified fire and security systems technicians. The apprentice will support the delivery of installation, service and maintenance work across a varied client base.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation and first fix of fire and security systems.
- Support routine planned maintenance and reactive callouts.
- Perform testing and fault-finding under supervision.
- Prepare and reinstate work areas to a professional standard.
- Complete accurate job documentation and certification.
- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and customer care.
- Work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain, and fault-find on access control, video surveillance, intruder alarms, and fire alarm systems.
- Gain structured, supervised experience across our full range of fire and security disciplines.
- Receive on-the-job training covering installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, and emergency lighting, working to relevant British Standards.
- Receive a full company and site induction, health and safety training, and ongoing mentoring.
- Gain exposure to manufacturer product training, internal quality and compliance procedures, and job management systems.
- Participate in regular progress reviews against the apprenticeship standard.
- Undertake protected time for off-the-job learning.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
- Driving license is required.
- Must have Maths & English qualifications.
- Applicants from Kent, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire area required.
- Willingness to work away from base is essential.
