About the Role
WRGB/WCWN has an immediate opening for a creative News Producer responsible for the day-to-day production of newscasts. This position will work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and Anchors on newscast content, determining content and flow, generating and writing stories, and developing content for the web site.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day production of newscasts
- Work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk and Anchors on the newscast and its content
- Determine the content and flow of newscasts
- Work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories
- Develop content for our web site
Requirements
- Must have at least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered
- Proficient with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews
Skills
- Solid news judgment
- Compelling and accurate writer
- Ability to multitask and manage time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
- Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities
- Proficient with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid)
- Proficient with newsroom systems, such as iNews

Salary/Compensations
- $18.90 to $21.12 per hour
