About the Role

Our Associate Directors are experienced communications leaders who combine advisory authority with a desire for continuous development. You will work alongside senior leaders to deliver exceptional client work and grow your leadership capabilities. Your work will involve advising category-defining clients on complex challenges with uncompromising standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client work, taking strategic responsibility for clients’ most important communications challenges.
  • Build trust to deliver impactful advice, drawing on firm resources to help clients build and defend reputations.
  • Drive teams and develop colleagues by structuring work clearly, delegating effectively, and holding yourself and others to high standards.
  • Coach colleagues, sharing experience to help them develop advisory instincts.
  • Work alongside peers to lead and inspire colleagues across the US team, fostering a culture of exceptional advice, continuous learning, and collaboration.
  • Contribute to AI-enhanced advisory by guiding colleagues in developing AI capabilities and documenting best practices.
  • Push the boundaries of advisory work through technology.
  • Support business development by identifying and contributing to new opportunities and extending client relationships.
  • Cultivate an external network useful to clients and the firm.
  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset to growth, identifying new ways to help clients or contributing to pitches.
  • Shape culture by giving and receiving feedback, demonstrating allyship, seeking input, and supporting team wellbeing.
  • Contribute to a culture where brilliance, restlessness, comradeship, inclusivity, and integrity are daily operating principles.

Requirements

  • Around 8 years+ of corporate communications experience in consultancy or in-house roles.
  • Experience working with technology companies and/or investors.
  • Demonstrable ability to take a strategic approach to reputation challenges, rooted in research, data, and insight.
  • Experience building advisory relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering strategic counsel in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience taking an integrated approach to communications campaigns, engaging with a range of audiences and channels.
  • Track record of developing media strategies.
  • Track record of maintaining an active network of media contacts.
  • Existing network within technology, policy, media or investor communities.
  • Experience managing and developing others through coaching and feedback.
  • Strong grasp of AI tools and their application in advisory work.
  • Ability to drive AI adoption across teams.
  • Intellectual curiosity to develop expertise in new areas.
  • Entrepreneurial approach to building networks.
  • Commitment to seeking feedback and contributing to an inclusive culture.
  • Excellent command of written and verbal English.
  • Experience advising on technology regulation or emerging technology challenges (desirable).
  • Experience working within scaling teams (desirable).

Salary/Compensations

  • $150,000 - $174,000 a year
