About the Role
Provides clinical and clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations in an assigned medical practice. Prepares patients and examination areas for appointments.
Responsibilities
- Greets and escorts patients, ensuring proper identification and documenting clinical intake information.
- Transcribes and updates patient information, including demographics, medications, and medical history.
- Provides clerical support, including preparing patient charts and assisting with paperwork like disability forms.
- Performs EMR Orders Reconciliation as assigned.
- Maintains cleanliness and stock of examination areas and performs environmental rounds.
- Prepares patients for visits to maintain timely patient flow, ensuring necessary materials are available for providers.
- Conducts in-office testing and coordinates external ancillary services.
- Collects, prepares, and processes specimens, logging results and reconciling them in patient records.
- Contacts patients for follow-up, test results, or clinician instructions.
- Maintains inventory and ensures proper upkeep of medical equipment and supplies.
- Communicates and documents electronic messages effectively.
- Assists in training new staff.
- Demonstrates and maintains practice-based competencies for in-office clinical procedures.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities.
- Maintains and models organizational values.
- Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required within the scope of practice.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED
- 1-year Medical Assistant experience, OR new graduate of Medical Assistant program, OR Nursing Assistant training program, or EMT certification, OR 3 years job-related experience in a medical office.
- Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
- Data entry required.
- Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.
- BLS Certification required within 30 days.
- Ability to travel between practices as needed.
