About the Role
Multiverse is rebuilding its platform on an AI-first foundation. The Enterprise Trust & Reliability layer ensures customer, regulator, and investor trust, aiming to convert that trust into revenue through guardrails, integrations, and vendor relationships. This role is for the first Strategic Partnerships & Procurement Lead, responsible for technology purchasing, renewals, and partnerships, operating at the intersection of engineering, security, legal, finance, and vendors to create commercial advantage.
Responsibilities
- Build and own strategic partnerships with key technology providers including model providers, hyperscalers, major platforms, and developer/security tooling vendors.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and identify opportunities for partnerships to unlock value beyond cost, such as training, co-building, product integrations, or improved commercial terms.
- Centralize and modernize technology procurement, renewal, and consolidation processes, establishing a software asset register and clear intake/approval flows.
- Engage legal and security teams early in the procurement process.
- Ensure total cost of ownership and usage-based pricing are transparent and aligned with business outcomes.
- Own and manage live contracts, including LLM enterprise contracts, AI tooling, and Identity platforms, leading negotiations and renewals.
- Leverage procurement and partnerships as a commercial driver, influencing cross-functional teams through persuasion and clarity.
- Generate trust and vendor evidence to accelerate enterprise and regulated customer approvals.
- Utilize AI daily for tasks such as drafting and comparing contracts and analyzing spend.
- Stay informed about the evolving tooling and AI provider market.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and growing relationships with major technology partners (e.g., AWS, Google, Salesforce, Anthropic) with demonstrated commercial impact.
- Experience negotiating and renewing software, cloud, or SaaS contracts, with an understanding of consumption-based pricing.
- Ability to drive decisions across security, legal, and finance teams without direct management.
- A strategic approach to vendor relationships, focusing on value creation beyond cost.
- Treats compliance as a lever rather than a blocker.
- Technically literate enough to challenge vendor claims without being an engineer.
- Comfortable navigating engineering and product environments.
- Understanding of the competitive AI landscape (e.g., Anthropic, Google, AWS) to advise on strategic calls.
- Ability to map the technology estate, including contracts, renewal dates, and owners.
- Experience managing live threads such as LLM enterprise contracts, identity tooling, and developer tools.
- Ability to identify and implement quick wins, such as renegotiating spend with existing suppliers.
- Experience standing up procurement processes with early engagement from security and legal.
