About the Role
Provide strategic communications for RBC Capital Markets’ U.S. Investment Banking, U.S. Municipal Finance and U.S. Corporate Banking businesses, contributing positively to RBC’s external image in the U.S. through innovative employee and external communications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated communications strategies for U.S. Investment Banking, Municipal Finance and Corporate Banking aligned with business objectives and growth priorities
- Build RBC’s brand visibility and reputation in the U.S. through proactive media relations, thought leadership and strategic content development
- Identify and mitigate reputational risks through issues management, executive messaging, and stakeholder engagement
- Identify and maintain strong relationships with key financial and business media to secure strategic coverage
- Lead proactive outreach for major announcements, including executive appointments, transactions and market insights
- Partner with U.S. PR agency to amplify reach and coordinate campaigns
- Identify and assist with media training for new spokespeople
- Create compelling internal content across multiple channels
- Support employee engagement through timely, relevant communications and events support that reinforce culture and business priorities
- Design and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and impact
- Research emerging trends and best practices to keep strategies current and competitive
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant corporate communications experience, PR firm or financial services/professional services firm preferred
- Demonstrated success in media relations, including securing strategic placements in business and financial press
- Established relationships with business and financial media
- Track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments
