About the Role

Simmons Adaptive is seeking Funds lawyers with 2-5 years of PQE for flexible consultancy opportunities with clients, primarily investment managers needing 3-6 month support. Assignments may involve fund establishment, formation, structuring, documentation, investor negotiations, regulatory matters, and advising business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the establishment and launch of investment funds
  • Advising on fund formation and structuring matters
  • Drafting and negotiating fund documentation
  • Assisting with investor negotiations and side letters
  • Supporting regulatory and governance matters affecting fund vehicles
  • Advising business stakeholders on day-to-day funds legal issues
  • Working closely with internal legal, compliance and business teams

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 2-5 years' PQE gained at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal team
  • Experience advising on a broad range of funds matters, ideally including fund formation, fund documentation and ongoing fund operations
  • Problem solver with a collaborative approach
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively to tight deadlines
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to effectively prioritise workloads
  • Ability to work autonomously but also collaborate as part of the wider team
  • Must hold the relevant right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
