About the Role
Work on a multi-contractor team to design, develop, and maintain a modern web application that enables space operators to analyze large amounts of data in a timely manner to facilitate decision making.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, operate, and maintain software for integration with non-IT engineering or scientific solutions.
- Apply software standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system life cycle.
- Support the generation of multi-disciplinary solutions and products, including simulations.
- Interface with application users and other technical personnel.
- Support efforts to containerize, test, and deploy services.
- Assist the program team in providing demonstrations to stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve operational problems with other engineering and technical personnel.
- Provide support to system maintainers for operational issue investigation.
- Interface with other systems via RESTful API.
- Develop small-scope applications that integrate with a larger system.
- Develop RESTful services using Java, SpringBoot, Mockito, Lombok, and OpenAPI.
- Manage software application development using Git and build processes with Gradle.
- Utilize third-party applications such as Kafka, MongoDB, ActiveMQ, and/or NiFi.
- Containerize applications and deploy them to a Kubernetes cluster using Helm Charts.
- Leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Requirements
- Experience with Java and SpringBoot.
- Demonstrated seasoned technical individual contributions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to articulate design concepts and technology benefits to influence others.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field.
- 5 years of related work experience.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
- Ability to break down high-level tasking into smaller units of work and self-manage development progress.
- Ability to coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Understanding of repeatable automated processes for building, testing, documenting, and deploying applications at scale.
