About the Role

The Development Associate will manage the grant calendar, craft funding proposals, and maintain the donor database, bridging the gap between programs and their funding.

Responsibilities

  • Research, monitor, and identify new foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities.
  • Write compelling grant proposals, letters of intent, and compliance reports for foundations and corporate donors.
  • Collaborate with teams to gather accurate data for grant reporting.
  • Maintain a master grant calendar to ensure zero missed deadlines.
  • Write timely progress reports demonstrating grant funding impact.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for community groups dropping off essential items.
  • Organize and maintain an inventory of incoming in-kind donations.
  • Provide on-the-ground support for local fundraising events, donor visits, and community awareness campaigns.
  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns.
  • Gather stories, data, and content for development efforts while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Prepare and maintain donor retention and giving trend reports.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Superb storytelling and writing skills to communicate the organization's mission and goals.
  • Ability to research and analyze data to identify potential donors, draft successful grant proposals, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and capacity to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Ability to think outside the box and generate creative fundraising ideas.
  • Experience working with non-profit donor databases.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to use all standard office equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds of incoming donations and event supplies.
  • Ability to sit or stand comfortably and navigate office spaces.
  • Reliable transportation required for local travel.
