About the Role

Our Glens Falls, NY site is seeking a Manufacturing Area Supervisor to lead multiple product lines and development products with catheter manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will work directly with all levels of the organization, ensuring manufacturing demand/through-put is met and areas are resourced for success.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate production staffing, equipment, and other resources to effectively meet build plans.
  • Lead Operators by establishing expectations, writing and delivering performance reviews, mentoring, and providing opportunities for growth.
  • Develop relationships and work closely with manufacturing support associates (other leaders, engineers, QA, maintenance, HR, etc.).
  • Develop team goals that support broader business objectives.
  • Develop manufacturing employees by creating opportunities for growth and development and providing feedback to teams and individuals regarding performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in rewarding and recognizing individuals and teams for accomplishments.
  • Resolve performance issues and conflict in a positive manner, utilizing all appropriate resources.
  • Ensure team compliance with safety, quality system, and regulatory requirements.
  • Own or support non-conformance resolutions (NCRs) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
  • Manage Manufacturing Documentation and Change Control.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation of manufacturing paperwork and that all materials are available and accurate.
  • Partner with training resources to ensure training needs are met and training is adequate, and train associates as required.
  • Monitor and communicate key performance metrics.
  • Proactively monitor and execute cost reduction and efficiency opportunities.
  • Lead and teach continuous-improvement efforts and tools to foster a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Work with the team in manufacturing areas.
  • Assist with support of research and development teams to ensure manufacturability of new processes, components, and products.
  • Participate in hiring processes for the manufacturing team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Applicable Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in a medical device manufacturing assembly environment.
  • Experience in designing processes for manufacturing.
  • Experience in a regulated medical device, ISO 13485, and FDA environment preferred.
  • Ability to drive a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer skills required: Windows operating system in a networked environment.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands.
  • Continually required to talk or hear.
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 25 pounds.
