About the Role

The Clinical Supervisor for Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) collaborates with the management team to provide mental health resources and screening. This role involves clinical supervision of case managers and mental health workers, serving as a first responder to crises, and overseeing the Bronx 24-hour drop-in center operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support and supervision for Social Work staff and interns in the Bronx RHY program.
• Provide direct clinical supervision for Social Workers and LMSW staff.
• Oversee and complete psychological evaluations for homeless youth and supportive housing residents.
• Develop and implement a clinical framework for screening and supporting youth up to age 25 with severe mental illnesses or homelessness history.
• Develop procedures and systems for clinical support to staff and interns.
• Oversee day-to-day operations for the Bronx 24-hour drop-in center.
• Assist with behavior management and basic needs in the drop-in space.
• Oversee site visits for contracts and ensure quality control of programmatic activities.
• Facilitate training on trauma-informed care and mental health practices.
• Assist with data collection, grant compliance, and reporting.
• Support interns in assessing young people and developing service plans.
• Ensure clients receive referrals to internal and community resources.
• Oversee coordination of treatment plans with service providers and internal departments.
• Maintain all reporting requirements for the agency and regulatory authorities.
• Participate as an active member of the Behavior Management Team.
• Coordinate and facilitate case conferences to determine plans for young people.
• Provide de-escalation and crisis intervention.
• Serve as an expert for Administration of Children’s Services call determinations.
• Participate in agency-wide, department, and team meetings.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• LCSW required.
• Two years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to engage hard-to-reach populations.
• Experience with trauma-informed approaches to service coordination.
• Experience or knowledge working with unstably housed youth.
• Minimum of 3 years of service delivery experience with urban homeless youth and LGBTQIA+ populations.
• Knowledge of positive youth development principles.
• Understanding of adolescent development, assessment, counseling, and crisis management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
