About the Role
TYLin is building relationships with talented professionals for anticipated Civil Engineer (P.Eng.) opportunities within its growing Rail + Transit team in Canada. This role offers the chance to be a pioneer in shaping modern transit infrastructure, influencing how people move, work, and live.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the civil design of rail and transit infrastructure projects across Canada.
- Prepare and review design drawings, specifications, technical reports, and construction documentation.
- Develop solutions related to grading, drainage, corridors, roadworks, site development, utilities, and transportation infrastructure.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams including track, structures, architecture, systems, utilities, and environmental specialists.
- Support project planning, design development, and engineering delivery for major transit programs.
- Interface directly with clients, transit authorities, contractors, and key project stakeholders.
- Perform quality reviews and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Support proposal development, business development activities, and client relationship management efforts.
- Contribute to the growth and continued success of TYLin's Rail + Transit practice in Canada.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada is required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
- Experience supporting transportation, rail, transit, municipal, or large infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles including grading, drainage, roadway design, utilities, and site development.
- Experience with industry-standard design software such as Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Passion for infrastructure, innovation, and improving mobility within Canadian communities.
- Collaboration, mission-driven focus, discipline, and leadership skills developed through military service are valued.
