About the Role

Morgan Lewis is seeking to hire a Litigation Docket Clerk to support our litigation practice firmwide, serving as an integral part of our team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the firm’s docket system for litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions
  • Obtains filing information from court clerks and online dockets
  • Identifies pertinent deadlines and prepares master calendar of due dates for distribution to lawyers and staff
  • Research questions from attorneys, paralegals and/or secretaries regarding deadlines, calculations of deadlines, local rules, etc.
  • Responds to requests regarding calendared events, pleadings, and court procedures and modifications to compliance dates on the docket calendar.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant litigation calendaring/docketing experience desired, preferably in a large law firm.
  • An understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings at the federal, state, and county level strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new software programs.
  • CompuLaw or comparable docketing software a plus.

Salary/Compensations

  • For positions in Boston, MA and Chicago, IL, the salary range for this position is: $53,200.00 - $85,150.00.
  • For positions in Orange County, CA, Century City, CA, Los Angeles, CA and New York, NY, the salary range for this position is: $57,900.00- $92,550.00.
  • For positions in Seattle, WA and Washington, DC, the salary range for this position is: $55,500.00 - $88,800.00
  • For positions in San Francisco, CA and Silicon Valley, CA, the salary range for this position is: $60,190.00 - $96,265.00.
