About the Role

We're looking for a strategic and collaborative Manager, Internal Communications, to help shape how employees connect with LifeLabs' purpose, priorities, and culture. This role leads the development and execution of integrated internal communication strategies that strengthen employee engagement, support business priorities, and foster a connected and informed workforce. You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution across the full communications lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated internal communications strategies that align with business priorities, organizational initiatives, and transformation efforts.
  • Create communications that reinforce LifeLabs' strategy, growth priorities, and organizational narrative, including executive updates, leadership agendas, key messages, speaking notes, and CEO communications.
  • Lead editorial planning to ensure communications are coordinated, timely, and strategically prioritized across the organization.
  • Enable leaders to communicate with clarity and consistency by providing messaging, communication tools, and guidance for cascading key information.
  • Identify and mitigate communication risks that could impact employee trust, engagement, or organizational reputation.
  • Partner with Brand and Corporate Communications to ensure consistent messaging while reinforcing organizational values, culture, and the employee value proposition through compelling storytelling.
  • Lead the evolution of internal communication channels to improve reach, accessibility, and overall employee experience.
  • Identify, implement, and optimize digital communication tools and platforms while evaluating emerging trends and technologies.
  • Oversee the development of engaging, high-quality content across multiple formats, including articles, videos, presentations, infographics, and leader toolkits.
  • Define and monitor communication success metrics focused on engagement, understanding, and behaviour change.
  • Use analytics and employee insights to continuously improve communication strategies, channel effectiveness, and stakeholder recommendations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing strategic communications counsel, messaging support, and storytelling guidance.
  • Partner across the business to align, prioritize, and integrate communications that support organizational goals and strengthen leadership effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in internal or corporate communications within a complex organization.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans that drive employee engagement and support business objectives.
  • Experience supporting executive and senior leadership communications, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and advise leaders at all levels.
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills across written, visual, and verbal formats.
  • Strong strategic thinking.
  • Digital fluency, with experience leveraging communication channels, tools, and emerging technologies to enhance employee communications.
  • Strong analytical mindset, using data and insights to measure effectiveness and continuously improve communication strategies.

Salary/Compensations

  • $96,255 - $122,727 CAD annually
