About the Role
The Relief Cleaning Operative provides high-quality cleaning services across various sites to cover staff absences, holidays, sickness, and additional cleaning needs. This role is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and hygienic environments while meeting company standards and client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, dusting and wiping surfaces, emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately, cleaning toilets, washrooms, and replenishing consumables, cleaning kitchens, staff areas, and communal spaces, and sanitising touchpoints and high-traffic areas.
- Clean 5 bedrooms and en suite bathrooms.
- Follow cleaning schedules and work instructions.
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, damages, or health and safety concerns to management.
- Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standards.
- Lock and secure premises where required.
- Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE when required.
- Ensure safe storage and handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Report incidents, hazards, and near misses promptly.
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, office, retail, healthcare, or educational environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail.
- Reliable, flexible, and punctual.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to travel between sites.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
- Experience using commercial cleaning equipment.
- Professional and trustworthy.
- Flexible approach to work and working hours.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to adapt to different sites and client requirements.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues.
- Position is subject to security clearance checks due to the data sensitive nature of the site.
