About the Role
The Market Analyst will leverage energy market expertise, data analysis, and AI-native research methods to help customers understand battery revenues, asset performance, and market change. This role bridges research, product, data, and customer interaction, ideal for someone who wants to explain power market dynamics while building tools for faster, sharper, and more scalable analysis. A significant part of the role involves developing Modo Energy's AI-native research capabilities using large language models, AI coding assistants, automations, and data pipelines. The position will significantly influence Modo Energy's growth in Australia and the wider APAC region, shaping research, product direction, customer conversations, and market views.
Responsibilities
- Producing data-led, analytical content about power markets and asset operations in written articles and videos to communicate high-value insights.
- Building AI-native workflows and automations to accelerate the research and content process.
- Supporting data science, product, and sales teams with research outputs, market knowledge, and AI-enabled analytical tools.
- Staying updated on market and policy news and communicating these internally and externally.
- Engaging with users, building a network, and staying current with clean energy industry developments.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure organizational alignment and deliver clear user value across products, content, and customer-facing work.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in energy markets.
- Proven quantitative and analytical skills for discovering, exploring, visualizing, and communicating data trends.
- Experience writing clearly and concisely, simplifying complex topics into accessible language.
- Critical thinking skills to develop opinions and ask insightful questions.
- A builder mentality with a track record of using AI tools, coding assistants, automations, or data pipelines to enhance research processes.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in small teams.
