About the Role

This role is responsible for monitoring the Distribution Center for Regulatory and customer compliance, providing guidance on quality concerns, and analyzing product returns and inventory to identify quality trends.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily walkthroughs of the distribution center and communicate potential food safety, food quality, and sanitation issues.
  • Prepare Executive Kitchen for all Product Sensory Evaluations.
  • Ensure correct products are ordered/picked for Product Slicing in NY & SAR; coordinate weekly shipping of product to SAR.
  • Conduct daily Purveyor Truck Audits and communicate non-conformances.
  • Monitor product concerns, perform AQL, upload records, and address local concerns.
  • Perform daily audits on the receiving process, including record completion, product and trailer conditions, and temperature.
  • Verify facility records, such as Cooler and Scale Verification records, are accurately completed.
  • Coordinate the communication process for product holds and releases.
  • Perform sanitation inspections of warehouse and deli areas.
  • Prepare reports on inspection findings and incidents.
  • Collect, evaluate, and ship samples to outside labs for product analysis.
  • Communicate with Distribution Center/Plants on Quality and Customer issues.
  • Review and process Purveyor credits and communicate trends.
  • Assist with training personnel in correct safety and cleaning methods in the deli.
  • Assist with training personnel in the visual inspection of BH Products.
  • Complete additional assigned duties requested by department management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Diploma.
  • At least Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressive work experience.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills at a technical and general level.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within both a manufacturing and corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • General math skills.
  • Ability to read and analyze process charts, graphs, and logs.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis.
  • Sharpened analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Driver's License required.
  • Must be Serve Safe Certified or able to attend a course and successfully pass certification exam.
  • Must be Certified by NYC Health Dept. for Food Handling or able to attend and successfully complete a training course.
  • Preferably HACCP trained or able to attend a training course and successfully complete a training course.
  • Preferably Certified as a QA Technician or able to successfully complete a course by certifying body.
  • Ability to lift overhead up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform effective organoleptic evaluations (corrected sensory ability is acceptable), including visual, olfactory, gustatory, tactile, and auditory ability.
  • Ability to work in both warm and cold environments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and withstand loud noises and fast-moving machinery.

  • Travel required about a 40% between New York and New Jersey Distribution or other facility if needed.

Salary/Compensations

  • $19.58 - $29.36 per hour
