About the Role

Unum UK is seeking a qualified Actuarial Reporting Manager to lead actuarial reporting and transformation initiatives. This role involves working across Solvency II, USGAAP, and UKGAAP reporting, mentoring junior staff, and driving innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage actuarial reporting activities, including Solvency II balance sheet, P&L results, and regulatory submissions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing clear, concise financial insights and technical guidance.
  • Communicate complex actuarial concepts in a clear and engaging way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Coach and mentor actuarial trainees, supporting their development and contributing to a high-performing team culture.
  • Champion innovation in actuarial systems and reporting methodologies, helping us evolve and improve how we work.

Requirements

  • A qualified actuary with strong experience (open to candidates from all backgrounds, Life, GI, Pensions etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into business narratives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach to cross-functional working.
  • A keen interest in finance transformation and process improvement.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and expert-level Excel proficiency.
