About the Role

Manage installation, repair, preventive maintenance, and customer training within the assigned area. Support dealer service teams and collaborate with the sales team to ensure proper site preparation for installations. Focus on delivering high-quality service, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for STERIS product lines according to technical requirements, including disassembling, replacing or repairing defective parts, rewiring or reassembling, troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating, and completing device performance tests.
  • Coordinate and oversee dealer’s service maintenance program and guide dealers to support customer installations.
  • Improve technical support for service dealers and customers by implementing and improving service processes in maintenance, service calls, warranty calls, and on-site field upgrade programs.
  • Comply with STERIS procedures and regulations for maintenance management, logs, tools management, and parts inventory.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the Service Team and Sales Team, providing information to obtain sales opportunities.
  • Keep effective communication with customers, managers, supporting functions, internal sales, and dealers, utilizing product and service skills to ensure service quality exceeds customer expectations.
  • Actively seek continuing education opportunities to reinforce and support STERIS overall Sales & Service strategies.
  • Communicate technical problems and resolve complaints from customers or dealers.
  • Assist sales and dealers in responding to customer questions regarding equipment operation and performance.
  • Provide on-site support to sales and dealers for installation and operation environment requirements, and other on-site technical services when necessary.
  • Provide technical support to dealers via email, telephone, and on-site support as needed.
  • Travel within Japan as and when required to perform job functions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or higher (including technical colleges, vocational schools, junior colleges, universities, or graduate schools).
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 1 standard vehicle).
  • A minimum of 3 years of technical service experience in medical devices.
  • Experience in the repair of medical washers, particularly with hands-on installation experience, is preferred.
  • Proficient in the installation, repair, and maintenance of steam and water piping systems.
  • Positive work attitude, customer-oriented, and a strong team player.
  • Comfortable using English, regardless of proficiency level.
  • Ability to travel for business trips that involve an overnight stay.
  • Willingness to work on weekends, public holidays, and during night hours (occurs rarely; substitute holiday provided).
