About the Role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Linear Municipal Infrastructure team, specializing in water mains, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and roadways. This new position offers flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of municipal infrastructure related to roads, water supply, sewers, roadway drainage, land development site servicing, storm water management and waste management.
• Assist project managers, engineers, environmental scientists and others on multidisciplinary design teams.
• Complete design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
• Assist with fieldwork for construction observation, monitoring and data collection activities.
• Experiment with AI-enabled tools to push the boundaries of traditional design.
• Contribute to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentations.
• Business travel to other Dillon offices as needed to support collaboration, share knowledge, and drive growth across the firm.
• Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development.
• Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.

Requirements

• A degree in civil engineering
• Registered as an engineer-in-training, or be eligible within six months
• 3 – 5 years' experience, preferably in the consulting industry
• Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of integrated municipal infrastructure including roads, sewers and watermains
• Understand a range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration
• Working knowledge of current AutoCAD software
• Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with local regulations, policies, guidelines, and provincial and municipal permit requirements for environmental agencies
• Proven skills in detail design of municipal infrastructure
• Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential
