About the Role
This role is within the Funds Finance and Operations team of the Infrastructure group, responsible for fund operations reporting requirements. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and has a strong foundation in finance and accounting.
Responsibilities
- Review financial reporting to investors and other users, including financial statements prepared under US GAAP and IFRS, as well as Fund and investment performance metric tracking.
- Manage Fund capital activity, liquidity and forecasting, including investor queries and compliance.
- Present significant transactions to senior management.
- Work with external service providers to ensure accurate and timely investor information.
- Review support and working papers for US and Canadian tax reporting.
- Prepare internal and external audit requests and maintain control documentation.
- Understand complex legal structures of various Funds and their impact on fund flows and consolidation.
- Assist with analysis of complex accounting issues.
- Assist with process improvements to the reporting process.
- Leverage AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot) to identify efficiencies, streamline workflows and add value.
- Handle special projects and ad hoc requests as required.
Requirements
- University degree (business or accounting an asset).
- Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA).
- Minimum of five years of progressive work experience in finance and/or accounting functions.
- Experience in private or semi-liquid (retail) funds and knowledge of the investment management industry is an asset.
- Experience dealing with complex ownership structures is an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, adapt quickly, and manage changing priorities.
- Superior communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel.
- Experience working with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot.
- Self-motivated and pro-active regarding workload management and professional development.
