About the Role
This role is responsible for managing and supervising the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring activities are efficient and aligned with the organization's goals. Key operational areas include audio and DSP, digital video, broadcast, stage machinery, automation, rigging, theatre lighting, and house lighting. The role involves providing input on new projects and closely monitoring all dry dock processes to ensure continuity across operations. Additionally, it requires maintaining regular daily catch-ups with traveling personnel to stay updated on ongoing activities and support.
Responsibilities
- Ensures that daily processes run smoothly while monitoring activities to maintain quality standards, meet deadlines, and guarantee continuity across operations and Dry Dock activities.
- Identifies and troubleshoots technical issues across all operational areas, ensuring minimal downtime and effective problem resolution.
- Collaborates with team members and relevant departments to analyze root causes and implement long-term solutions.
- Maintains regular catch-ups with Traveling Fleet Supervisors to ensure schedules align with operational requirements, company standards, and guidelines.
- Analyzes workflows and proposes improvements to increase efficiency, reduce resource waste, and eliminate unnecessary delays.
- Plans and monitors operational costs to ensure they stay within budget.
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure effective resource utilization.
- Provides regular performance reports and identifies issues, proposing data-driven solutions.
- Ensures customer technical expectations are met.
- Coordinates with suppliers to maintain a consistent supply of materials and/or services.
- Ensures all operations comply with company standards and reference safety/quality regulations.
- Oversees the implementation of procedures to minimize risks.
- Coordinates and implements requests from productions and other colleagues.
- Communicates effectively with team members, traveling fleet supervisors, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of MSC products and features.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with other departments to ensure excellent support is consistently delivered.
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
- Significant travel required.
- UK visa required.
- Existing right to live and work in the UK is preferred.
