About the Role
Ram Iron & Metal is seeking a Maintenance & Yard Technician to oversee general housekeeping duties and environmental compliance. The role involves assisting with repairs, operating equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, organize, stock, and maintain accountability of parts inventory.
- Assist Welders and Mechanics with light repairs.
- Conduct daily inspections of environmental management tools and equipment.
- Operate a street sweeper, forklift, and/or bobcat.
- Assist with washing vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
- Complete general housekeeping duties, including emptying waste and spent oils.
- Paint various sized bins, containers, equipment, machinery, or vehicles.
- Assist Parts Runner with pickups and drop-offs of commercial and industrial items.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of catch basins and manholes.
- Perform regular maintenance of the stormwater management system.
- Perform water sampling in accordance with established procedures.
- Operate a sweeper truck to mitigate airborne dust.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to learn and assist in several aspects of daily operations.
- Regular collaboration and communication with Management, yard personnel, drivers, and contractors.
- Valid Driver’s License (G) with a clean drivers abstract.
- Experience with a forklift (valid forklift certification on Counterbalance).
- Previous experience and willingness to working outdoors.
