About the Role

Lead the delivery of Net Zero carbon projects and programmes across the Private Sector, joining the Net Zero Retrofit team within the Responsible Business Team. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver Net Zero Roadmaps for clients, managing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of Net Zero Retrofit Service offers on projects through the development of Net Zero Roadmaps/Programmes.
  • Provide project leadership to a team of Net Zero consultants to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Engage with clients, leading project delivery and supporting account growth.
  • Support Net Zero work winning through expanding client relationships and providing bid support.
  • Conduct Net Zero audits, feasibility studies, and delivery strategies, including energy and carbon saving calculations.
  • Perform detailed energy data analysis.
  • Research new low carbon system/technology opportunities.
  • Incorporate financial analysis into Net Zero Roadmaps/Retrofit Strategies.
  • Report on asset performance against client and industry targets (SBTi, NZCBS, etc.) and conduct CRREM analysis.
  • Provide technical assurance in reviewing contractor’s proposals and advising on design developments.
  • Offer Net Zero advice and support to stakeholders and upskill project teams.
  • Support the digitization of Mace’s Net Zero Retrofit service.
  • Champion sustainability and encourage behavioural change within the business.
  • Upskill colleagues and raise the external profile of Mace services.
  • Represent Mace at relevant forums, working groups, and client presentations.
  • Perform line management, including upskilling and career development.
  • Innovate and champion best practice, communicating benefits and results to colleagues and clients.

Requirements

  • More than 5 years of experience with a strong engineering (Building Services) background.
  • Detailed knowledge of building energy systems and energy reduction opportunities across various building types and sectors.
  • Proven track record of delivering net zero roadmaps/energy audits with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong experience working with clients to identify goals and requirements, and carbon reduction strategies in the built environment.
  • Proven client relationship management and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills, translating technical knowledge into clear actions.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable building design, including embodied and operational carbon and energy reduction.
  • Track record of client account management and work winning.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Problem solver with the ability to think laterally and adapt solutions to new contexts.
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working independently and completing net zero roadmaps with minimal oversight.
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks such as SBTI, NZCBS, CRREM, RIBA.
