About the Role
This position is responsible for designing and teaching undergraduate college-level financial literacy and planning courses in the Management Department at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. The role requires timely issue resolution, excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, independent work, project leadership, and collaboration. Superior verbal and written communication skills are essential. Duties also include attending the West Point Lab for Economic Security and providing end-of-semester reports on cadet performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and teach undergraduate college-level financial literacy and planning courses.
- Address issues in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Work independently, lead projects, and collaborate with team members.
- Utilize superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Attend the West Point Lab for Economic Security.
- Provide end-of-semester reports on cadet performance.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in business administration or a closely related field.
- At least one (1) year of teaching experience.
- AACSB accredited degree.
- College-level teaching experience.
- Five (5) or more years of work experience in the field of finance.
- Experience with Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL).
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Certification.
- Must satisfactorily complete a Federal Background check and all pre-employment requirements.
- Applicants may not be employed in the chain of command of their relatives.
