About the Role

This role offers the opportunity to significantly transform finance operations at IAG Loyalty. You will play a pivotal role in a team undergoing an exciting transformation, combining technical accounting expertise with a passion for process improvement, strengthening controls, and building a future-ready finance function. You will own a significant business area, collaborating across reporting, controls, audit, and stakeholder management, while also challenging existing workflows to create a more efficient and scalable finance operation. This is a role where you can make a genuine impact from day one and shape the team's operations as the business grows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, continuously improving processes, controls, and SAP configuration to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
  • Partner with Commercial Finance, IAG Group operating companies, Air Partners, and colleagues across IAG Loyalty to resolve reporting issues and support business change.
  • Assess the accounting implications of new commercial propositions, preparing clear accounting papers and recommendations.
  • Take ownership of financial reporting, controls, and month-end activities for your area, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality financial information.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and financial reporting outputs, ensuring robust financial control.
  • Lead internal and external audit activity for your portfolio, providing timely, high-quality responses.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts to support foreign exchange hedging activity.
  • Improve quarterly reporting processes, reducing manual effort while maintaining high standards of accuracy and governance.
  • Support and collaborate with other members of the Loyalty Financial Reporting team, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with relevant post-qualified experience.
  • Proven track record of improving finance processes and controls, demonstrating increased efficiency and scalability.
  • Enjoy understanding how things work, asking questions, and challenging the status quo.
  • Strong financial reporting and financial control experience, including reconciliations, journals, month-end close, and balance sheet management.
  • Ability to balance strong technical accounting judgment with commercial pragmatism.
  • Experience managing internal and external audits, providing robust evidence and building positive relationships with auditors.
  • Confident in building relationships across Finance and the wider business, communicating clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to absorb complex information quickly and take ownership of your area with confidence.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities can change.
