About the Role
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Brooklyn, NYC is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency team. This role involves triaging emergency cases, assisting with diagnostics, patient care, and client communication.
Responsibilities
- Assist with nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
- Stock, clean and maintain cleanliness in our ER, ICU and other designated areas for the role.
- Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration under the guidance of an LVT.
- Perform radiography and lab work.
- Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
- Engage with our clients by performing triages, going over estimates and providing discharge instruction.
- Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrates proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
Requirements
