About the Role
BAI Communications is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (Telco) to drive growth across a portfolio of connectivity solutions, including Private Mobile Networks, DAS, Wi-Fi, and emerging wireless technologies. Working with enterprise, government and telecommunications customers, you'll identify opportunities, develop strategic relationships, shape innovative solutions and convert complex opportunities into long-term commercial outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to influence customer connectivity strategies while positioning BAI as a leading partner in Australia's wireless communications ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities across enterprise, government and telecommunications markets.
- Identify market trends, customer needs and high-potential growth opportunities.
- Develop compelling customer value propositions that address business, operational and technical outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships with senior executives, decision-makers and industry stakeholders.
- Lead opportunities through the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to contract execution.
- Prepare, manage and negotiate complex bids, proposals, tenders and commercial agreements.
- Collaborate with engineering, commercial, finance and delivery teams to design customer-centric solutions.
- Contribute market insights to support future product, solution and business model development.
- Establish strategic partnerships with mobile network operators, vendors and industry participants.
- Deliver against revenue, sales and total contract value targets.
- Support successful implementation and customer outcomes following deal closure.
Requirements
- Proven success in business development, solution sales or strategic account management within telecommunications or technology environments.
- Strong understanding of Public Wireless, Private Mobile Networks, DAS, Wi-Fi or related connectivity solutions.
- Demonstrated experience securing and managing complex enterprise and government opportunities.
- Ability to influence, negotiate and build credibility with executive stakeholders.
- Commercially astute with experience developing business cases, pricing strategies and value-led proposals.
- Experience managing strategically significant bids, tenders and customer engagements.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications ecosystems, including mobile network operators, vendors and delivery partners.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and convert them into profitable business outcomes.
- Experience working across industries such as telecommunications, property, transport, government, resources, health or manufacturing is highly regarded.
