About the Role

This position is within the organization responsible for planning and producing PlayStation product manuals. You will be part of a global team across Japan, the US, and the UK, collaborating with design, development, and regional legal and support departments to create content, primarily manuals for hardware, system software, and related services, for the global market. Our mission is to provide accurate and easy-to-understand information experiences so that users worldwide can correctly understand and safely use the products. We utilize Structured Authoring (DITA) as a foundation, focusing on content creation with reusability and scalability in mind, and continuously improving our processes.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and producing PlayStation product manuals and user guides.
  • Localizing/transcreating English content into Japanese.
  • Planning, producing, reviewing, and releasing content within the assigned area.
  • Producing content using Structured Authoring with DITA XML and Oxygen.
  • Designing information architecture and content structure considering reusability and scalability.
  • Coordinating reviews and ensuring quality by collaborating with design, development, and other relevant departments.
  • Promoting work by collaborating with overseas offices (US and UK).
  • Managing and versioning content using Git.
  • Ensuring quality based on terminology, style guides, and documentation standards.
  • Proposing and driving improvements to production processes and content quality.
  • Potentially leading projects in the future.

Requirements

  • Experience producing technical content such as manuals and user guides.
  • Ability to independently drive the entire process of content planning, production, and review.
  • Business communication skills in English (email, chat, online meetings, etc.).
